We usually drink these protein packed milkshakes for breakfast, still this filling snack can be an enjoyed anytime. Quinoa is one of the rare plant foods that is still considered a complete protein. Meaning it contains all nine essential amino acids. In addition to the protein, quinoa also contains fiber, magnesium and iron.
I love quinoa, however my kids do not! So I am always looking for ways to sneak it into a meal. This milkshake is an easy way to get a serving of this high protein food into picky eaters.
· 1 cup-Milk
· ½ cup-Quinoa cooked
· ½ cup-Plain Greek Yogurt
· ¼ tsp.- Vanilla
· 1 tsp.-Honey (optional)
· ¼ cup- raspberries (or 1 tbsp. - Cocoa for a chocolate milkshake)
· 2-3- Ice cubes
1. Add all the ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth. You have to blend a little longer then you would normally to make sure the quinoa is broken down. But once its smooth it’s completely undetectable.
2. Serve and enjoy! Simple and delicious.
